Sensei comes to us due to the unfortunate passing of David Wall, owner of Evad Kennels, in Illinois and the graciousness of
Jason Loyd of Big Bear Akitas, in Arkansas.  Sensei was David's last pick of the litter from Chereed's The Intimidator "Gator".
We are so happy to have Sensei here at Southwest Akitas.  He is such a joy to everyone that meets him around town and at the local        dog  parks.  We are complimented regularly on both Sensei's beauty and temperament.

Of the 30 dogs listed on Sensei's four generation pedigree:

  • 16 (53%) are champions
  • 11 (37%) are Register of Merit (ROM) recipients for having demonstrated genetic excellence by producing a minimum of 10 champion offspring, if a male and a minimum 5 champion  of offspring, if a female.
  • He is the grandson of Award of Merit recipient Chereed's The Terminator "Tater".

Sensei began his show career with a bang on May 12, 2006, at 7 months of age.  On his first weelend in the show ring, he won Best in Sweepstakes and two 4 point majors, at the Rio Grande Kennel Club Shows.   His beauty, movement and,  temperament convinced the judges to award him at the levels that young pups do not often accomplish.

Sensei completed his championship in February of 2007, in Hobbs, New Mexico.  He was 16 months old at that time.  We are very proud of  Sensei and look forward to working towards other obdience and conformation goals  in the future.

Sencei recieved his CD, obedience title, in December 2007.  He accomplished this by finishing amongst the top three dogs in three consecutive obedience trials.

Sensei's pedigree features mainly large Goshen type dogs.   We expect Sensei to slowly mature to approximately 27 inches and 120 pounds. 

Sensei will be available for stud to approved bitches after he complete his health clearances, at 2 years of age.
